The Griffin House combines rustic charm with elegant touches, featuring beautifully landscaped gardens, intimate ceremony spots, and versatile reception areas. The venue is designed to cater to both small, intimate gatherings and larger, luxury weddings; they really have the space and options for everyone. I had the opportunity to photograph in this venue this spring and it was truly one of the best experiences. The interior getting ready spaces are unmatched, and the outdoor landscaping and views are surreal.

About The Griffin House in Hood River

the Griffin House, located in Hood River, is a historic venue perfect for weddings. Built in 1900, it features a vintage house on the cliffs looking over the Columbia River.  Before it was a wedding venue, it was a prohibition-era speakeasy and even had a secret tunnel through the cliffs!  The Griffin House has been updated now, providing couples with a luxurious space for their wedding day.

The ceremony and reception spaces at Griffin House

At The Griffin House, couples have access to both indoor and outdoor spaces. The indoor area offers two separate spaces to get ready, as well as a general space and even very vintage pink bathroom.  The ceremony space is outdoor on the lawn up against the original property’s rock wall and provides a view of the Columbia River below. The views are stunning and make a really great backdrop for a ceremony.

When it comes to the reception, The Griffin House has multiple options including a 2600 sq. ft clear tent making this a great wedding venue option for Oregon weather. It does tend to get quite windy in the Gorge, as well, so the tent is a nice escape from the elements when necessary. The Griffin House provides versatile spaces that can be customized to suit your vision for the day and really tries to cater to their couples, they even have their own supply of furniture to choose from.
